Information: Batsford Arboretum is home to one of the country’s largest private tree collections. Enjoy early colour from snowdrops, spring-flowering bulbs and Japanese flowering cherries. You’ll find 56 acres of wild gardens, paths and streams, stunning views and beautiful orient-inspired statues. The arboretum is managed by the Batsford Foundation, a charity set up by the 2nd Lord Dulverton in 1983 to promote education, conservation and research into gardens, arboreta and historic landscapes. The visitor centre at Batsford has a fantastic café offering home baked lunches, cakes and afternoon teas.
There’s also a quality garden and gift shop and a beautiful plant centre set in the grounds of the old Victorian walled garden.
